The scholarship covers one round-trip airfare, tuition and related student fees including medical insurance, books and living allowances for two years. Scholars will be expected to secure another source of funding after two years.

No, students can be in the process of applying to universities outside of Japan but do not have to have been accepted yet. They will be asked to list all the schools that they have applied to on the application and to provide a copy of one of their applications to a university.

No, students must use their scholarship in the year that it is awarded. If they delay their studies, they must re-apply for the scholarship the following year.
